A little about me...
Growing up in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, adventure has always been a part of my life. I grew up skiing, camping, mountain biking, and hiking. I have a great appreciation of the outdoors and care deeply about environmental stewardship.
When I was six, I helped rebuild a truck and convert it to 4wd with my Dad. I learned the importance of having the right tools for the job, and the mechanical interaction of parts and mechanisms. I also learned how fun power tools are and the importance of WD-40! From there, my natural mechanical aptitude was born. I have spent countless hours designing, constructing, taking apart, rebuilding, and re-inventing most everything. I've built houses, poured concrete, cut metal, wired electrical, and everything in between. Not too long ago I even rebuilt my truck's automatic transmission and transfer case (check it out here).
I moved to San Diego during high school, and fell in love with the ocean. I learned to sail, surf, SCUBA dive, and oddly enough, snowboard. For me, the mountains and the sea will always be home.
I find the world fascinating; its history, its cultures, its beauty, and its diversity. I have trekked around the globe (over 30 countries so far!) and met so many interesting people and seen so many amazing things. Travel and adventure are a fundamental part of me, and I am always seeking to experience more.
I am naturally curious about most everything, love to learn, and strive to constantly implement that knowledge for continual improvement. On a daily basis, I ask why, what, how, and can it be done better, which fuels my natural drive to create and innovate. I'm undaunted by seemingly impossible challenges and will always rise to the occasion. As an engineer, my creativity, natural aptitude, and my passion for life funnels into my work wherever possible. Ultimately, I want to design and build things bring joy to others around me, that in turn brings joy to me!
